A baker's whim becomes a Lovejoy favorite

What do you get when you cross a butter cookie with delicate egg bread?  The unusual looking beauty above.   My Shortbread topped Brioche came to me, like many of my other creations, during the magic hours of middle-of-the-night baking.  Try one.  They’re very popular with people who prefer their pastries not too sweet.

Speaking of trying new things, we always have enticing tidbits for you to taste.  Take a walk past the coffee counter to the back of the bakery and there you’ll find our SAMPLE SPOONS, each one holding a tasty bit of cookie, pastry or bread.

Yes you’re right.  The photo on the left was snapped (quickly) during a sun break.  One of our customers chose the perfect moment to pull up a stool and sit at one of our outside counters.  Just think, only a few more months for the rest of us.  In the meantime, come inside out of the rain and pick up a basket sandwich to go… or stay and enjoy one of our four (!) homemade soups.  The chicken with wild rice has a broth like grandma used to make.HoldingCOokie

But before you leave (okay we know this isn’t fair) don’t forget a chocolate chunk cookie.  Tastes as amazing as it looks.

I think that last picture is why we had a huge run on chocolate chip cookies today! They are super-good(like everything here) but my new favorite are the ginger cookies! I dipped a piece of one in my latte today and it was divine….

  • LOVE the spoon tasting!!
they must constantly need refilling, don’t think people would walk past without a few samples.

All I can say is…these guys have it DIALED. I visited the Pearl from Seattle this weekend and went there twice on Saturday then again on Sunday. Every consumer touchpoint from their business cards, coffee cups, interior design, and mouthwatering bread rack has been carefully considered and executed. Can’t wait to visit again soon. Keep up the good work Lovejoy Bakers!
